「上棟式」
徳島の北島町で進めているテナントビルの上棟式でした。
秋晴れの続く中で、この日は激しい雨。
でも、上棟式の行われた時間、雨が弱くなったので良しとして、
「雨男」探しは止めておきます。（笑）
建物は、美容関係の販売をしているクライアントの事務所と、
美容関係のテナントが入る、平屋の建築。
平屋の建物の場合、屋根で上棟式を行いますが、
さすがにこの雨では、屋根には上がれず、
ブルーシートの屋根の下での上棟式となりました。
もちろん、こういう経験は初めてです。
最近は、上棟式も簡略化される場合も多く、
そのやり方は、ケース・バイ・ケース。
今回は、棟梁に祝詞（のりと）をあげてもらって、
式を執り行いました。
高校一年生の夏休み、部活の終わった午後から、
工務店で、大工さんの手伝いのアルバイトをしました。
建方に備えて、角ノミなどの工具で木の加工の手伝いです。
そして、建方当日。
朝から、職人さんたちのテンションが高いのがわかります。
お施主さんが昼食を準備してくれ、いただきましたが、
真夏ですし、そこにビールも用意されていました。
お茶のようにビールを飲む職人さんたちは、
まだ、１５歳のぼくにビールを飲ませます。
そこからまた一仕事して、夕方早々に上棟式。
そしてその後、職人さんたちと食事をいただきました。
そこでもまた、ビールを飲まされ、ぼくは人生で初めて酔っ払いました。
目を閉じても、天井がいつまでもぐるぐると回っていました。
上棟式は、建物の骨格が立ち上がり、現場が佳境に入り、
完成へ向けて、空間が少しずつ生まれていくその始まりです。
思い描いていた空間であるのか、少しの安堵と大きな期待。
そして、真夏の青空と職人さんたちの笑顔、ぐるぐると回る天井を、
ビールの苦味とともに思い出します。
